Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has quit the French national set-up after being overlooked for Raymond Domenech's latest squad.

Frey, 28, was a non-playing member of France's Euro 2008 sqaud but was not called up for Wednesday's 3-2 friendly win in Sweden.

“After reflecting at length, I publicly announce that given the current French coaching staff, I have decided to dedicate all my time to Fiorentina,” he said.

Domenech also dropped Gregory Coupet, who is not sure of his place at new club Atletico Madrid and instead called up Marseille keeper Steve Mandanda and Lyon youngster Hugo Lloris for the game against Sweden.
