Andriy Shevchenko's loan move from Chelsea to Milan is being held up by a dispute over who pays his wages.

Milan have reportedly asked Chelsea to pay part of Shevechenko's wages but the London club, who paid Milan £30million for the Ukrainian two years ago, are reluctant to agree such a deal.

A compromise could be reached by the inclusion of Chelsea's Serbian defender Branko Ivanovic in any agreement.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are again reported to be trying to secure the signature of Robinho from Real Madrid after Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon was spotted in Madrid.

Portuguese media have reported that Chelsea failed in a £16million bid for Benfica's Argentina starlet Angel Di Maria but are close to capturing Sporting Lisbon winger Fabio Paim on a season-long loan.
