Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is eager to return Italy.
The Brazilian has been told that he is no longer part of coach Fabio Capello’s plans at Real Madrid, and Milan have confirmed their interest in the former World Player of the Year.
Galliani is looking to broker a deal whereby Milan sign Ronaldo on a free transfer, but Madrid are reluctant sanction such a deal.
“Ronaldo has said that he only wants Milan,” Galliani told the club’s official website.
“He has had the authorisation from Real Madrid to negotiate with other teams and there’s absolutely no problem with the Spanish club executives.
“If things go as planned, I will go to Madrid this Monday. We cannot be too optimistic.
“We are negotiating and we will see what happens.”
