Prolific duo lead the way in race to become Europe’s leading scorer

The two frontrunners in this season’ ESM Golden Shoe standings were on target again this week.

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi added to their tallies for the season with goals against Villarreal and Granada respectively. Ronaldo has now scored 30 goals this season, while his great rival is up to 27.

Elsewhere in the top ten, other than Alexander Meier, who scored in Eintracht’s Frankfurt’s 2-1 win over Hamburg, no other striker scored a league goal this weekend.
