Here’s your daily round-up of the latest transfer gossip from World Soccer.
INTER IN FOR AGUERO
Manchester City were criticised by many of their supporters for not signing another striker in this summer’s transfer window. However, with Sergio Aguero entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad, The Citizens will have no choice but to look for back-up to Gabriel Jesus ahead of next season.
According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is planning a summer bid for Aguero. Conte already has Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku at his disposal, although the former was heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro. It’s unlikely they’ll be able to keep hold of the 23-year-old beyond the end of this season, so Aguero would be the perfect replacement.
WEST HAM CLOSE IN ON BENRAHMA
As we enter the final week in which Premier League clubs can sign players from the Football League, it seems that West Ham United are going to be the busiest top flight side over the next few days.
According to the Daily Mail, The Hammers have had a £13 million offer for Josh King rejected by Bournemouth, whilst they are also close to agreeing a deal for Brentford’s Said Benrahma. They could meet Brentford’s £25 million asking price by offering £20 million plus lucrative add-ons for the 25-year-old, according to the Guardian.
DEPAY RULES OUT MOVE
One player who was heavily linked with a move away this summer was Memphis Depay. The 26-year-old was expected to join Barcelona from Lyon, but the two clubs couldn’t get a deal agreed on Deadline Day, not helped by the La Liga club’s inability to offload Ousmane Dembele.
According to Marca, Depay has not ruled out making the move in January. Lyon are likely to sell to avoid losing the winger for nothing at the end of the season.
