Spanish football federation president Angel Maria Villar will file an official complaint with FIFA over the country’s controversial World Cup elimination.
“We shall say we were prejudiced by the referee,” said Villar.
Spain were knocked out of the competition on penalties by South Korea after a golden “goal” by Fernando Morientes was disallowed when the linesman wrongly judged the ball to have gone out of play.
“I don’t think the referees were fair,’ added Villar. ‘They made mistakes and if anyone had won, it should have been Spain,” he added.
“There were a lot of important mistakes like the goals we had disallowed.
“The damage has been done, butwe have to stop things like this happening again, so the complaint will be constructive.”
