Giovanni Trapattoni has given Roberto Baggio a farewell appearance in an Italian jersey by naming the veteran striker in his squad for Wednesday’s friendly international againmst Spain.
Trapattoni had vowed to select the Brescia forward for the friendly and the coach has been true to his word.
The coach has named a 21-man squad for the match but is missing several first-team choices. Francesco Totti suffered a muscle injury in Roma’s win over Empoli on Sunday while Alessandro Nesta is still out with a rib injury. Internazionale goalkeeper Francesco Toldo is unavailable while Antonio Cassano and Alessandro Del Piero and Filippo Inzaghi are all injured.
