Denmark’s experienced striker, Ebbe Sand, is rated as doubtful for Sunday’s quarter-final clash with Holland.
Danish coach Morten Olsen confirmed that a scan has revealed a damaged muscle in the player’s hamstring region.
Olsen may now turn to Peter Madsen of VFL Bochum, although there is a possibility that Peter Lovenkrands and Kenneth Perez could fill the void left by Sand’s absence.
The injury to Sand represents the second setback in the space of a week for Olsen. It now looks like full back Niclas Jensen will miss the rest of the championship with a gash to his left foot.
