New Chelsea signing Mateja Kezman will be suspended for three Premier League following his red card in the Blues pre-season friendly match against Roma.
The Serbia and Montenegro striker, signed from PSV Eindhoven last month, was sent off for violent conduct in Chelsea’s 3-0 on July 29.
“Chelsea’s Mateja Kezman will be subject to a three-match suspension starting from August 17,” the FA’s official website said.
Kezman will be eligible for Chelsea’s opening game of the season, against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, but will miss their next three matches away at Birmingham City and Crystal Palace and home to Southampton.
