Hamburg have pulled out of an attempt to sign Everton midfielder Thomas Gravesen, as the Dane revealed the unrest at Goodison Park.
Gravesen, who joined Everton from the Bundesliga club four years ago, was tipped for a return to Germany, but Everton refused to lower their asking price from £3.5m – a figure beyond the budget of Hamburg.
“We’ve tried everything but that’s that for this season now,” said Hamburg chairman Bernd Hoffman.
Gravesen admits that the recent boardroom unrest at Goodison has affected the mood at the club.
“I see no reason to keep quiet any more,” Gravesen told BT.
“Everyone who is closely involved at Everton can see that something is wrong. Moyes is also unsatisfied and a stressed man.
“The situation at Everton is extremely tricky right now. There is some unrest in the direction of the club and that affects the atmosphere in the club.
“The people who should direct the club are apparently working against each other.
“Our manager David Moyes doesn’t get the money to buy the necessary reinforcements which were promised.”
