Real Madrid have confirmed they are monitoring the progress of Empoli striker Francesco Tavano.
“Tavano is really good, he’s a player that Real Madrid is following,” Real’s market consultant, Ernesto Bronzetti told Radio Radio.
Empoli claim they have heard nothing official from Real, but admit they were flattered by the interest shown in the 26-year-old Tavano.
“The reports about Tavano are flattering to us but we know nothing,” Empoli’s general director, Pino Vitale, told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“As for ourselves, I think that the group will remain the same until June.”
Tavano himself admits that he was unaware of Real’s interest.
“Being followed by Real is a really beautiful thing,” said Tavano. “I’ve never heard these rumours, but I hope, like Cassano, that I may also realise a dream.”
