Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is concerned that he may not be fit to face Barcelona in next week’s Champions League encounter, after aggravating his knee injury playing for the Ivory Coast in the African Nations Cup.
“For three months I have had lingering pain in my knee,” said Drogba on Tuesday.
“I am fine in my mind but I can’t play as I would do usually.
“When I kick and change direction, I am not at my best.
“Even for my goal against Nigeria, I did not kick the ball as I wanted.
“I am at only 60percent of my abilities,” added Drogba.
Drogba admits that the club did not want him to go to the African Nations Cup.
“At first Mourinho said ‘you are on holidays. You have to come back perfectly fresh.
“It was a way of letting me understand he would have preferred me to stay.”
