Valencia winger Vicente is worried about his chances of being fit for this summer’s World Cup finals in Germany.
“As things stand it is obvious that I won’t be going to the finals. It is going to be very difficult,” Vicente told television station Canal 9.
“All I’m worried about at the moment is getting back to full fitness to be able to help my team finish in the top four.”
The 24-year-old damaged the ligaments in his right ankle during Valencia’s side’s 2-0 win over Osasuna back in January.
Valencia doctor Antonio Giner sounded more optimistic about the chances of Vicente being fit for Germany.
“We hope that he will be training at the same level as the rest of the squad in 15 days,” Giner told AS.
“We will tell him that everything is progressing according to plan and that he shouldn’t be so pessimistic.”
