Spain’s dynamic duo continued their remarkable scoring run to remain tied at the head of the ESM Golden Shoe standings. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were on target on Sunday to take their respective tallies for the season to 43.

Real Madrid’s Ronaldo scored the opener in his side’s 3-0 win over Sevilla, while Messi, who had not scored in his previous three matches, returned to scoring form by netting twice in Barcelona’s 7-0 victory at Rayo Vallecano.

Elsewhere in the top ten, there were two goals apiece for Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Schalke’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, while Robin van Persie, who has been experiencing a mini-drought in recent weeks, was on target for Arsenal, and Mario Gomez made it 26 for the season with the opener for Bayern Munich against Stuttgart.
