West Brom got off to a flyer in their local derby with Aston Villa. Two goals up within nine minutes appeared to put them on course for a much-needed three points, but a resilient Villa fought back to claim a memorable 4-3 victory.

The goal of the game and indeed of the day was WBA’s opener – a stunning long range effort from Chris Brunt that gave the Villa goalkeeper, Brad Guzan, no chance.
