Paris St Germain have sacked France midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo after he challenged coach Guy Lacombe.
“PSG confirms that Vikash Dhorasoo’s contract has been terminated,” a club spokesman said.
In an interview with L’Equipe last month, Dhorasoo questioned Lacombe’s tactics after he was dropped from the main squad and sent to play for PSG’s amateur team.
Dhorasoo called the coach ‘a liar’ which led to the player being summoned by club chairman Alain Cayzac, who suspended him until further notice.
Dhorasoo, 33, joined PSG from Milan in 2005. After starting his career at Le Havre, he joined Lyon in 1998, winning two French titles in 2003 and 2004.
Dhorasoo has won 18 caps for France, scoring once. He was a fringe member of the France squad that reached the World Cup final in July.
