Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has suggested to Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas that he should declare an interest if he is interested in joining the Spanish champions.
After Real were crowned Primera Division champions at the weekend, Calderon has already begun looking ahead to next season.
“Every coach likes him (Fabregas) but my policy is that it has to be the player who makes the first step for the signing because we don’t want conflicts with any team,” Calderon said.
“Something nice about Cesc is that he is Spanish and this is one of my objectives – to make Real Madrid more Spanish.”
Fabregas, 21, signed an eight-year contract extension with The Gunners in 2006, and has consistently stated that he is happy with life at the Emirates.
