Here’s your daily round-up of the latest transfer gossip from World Soccer.
LEEDS TRYING TO LURE PSG STAR TO ELLAND ROAD
It’s been quite a summer for Leeds. Back in July, The Whites were linked with huge moves for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani, and now they’re being linked with another massive star in the form of Julian Draxler.
According to RMC Sport, The Whites are trying to persuade the Paris Saint-Germain and Germany winger to join the club. Leeds aren’t the only side interested in the 26-year-old though, with a number of other clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, understood to be attempting to sign the winger.
Whilst we’d love to see Draxler swap Paris for Leeds, it’s a deal they’re unlikely to pull off, as the winger is said to be quite happy at Le Parc des Princes. It’s fair to say that Marcelo Bielsa’s side certainly haven’t lacked ambition this summer though!
UNITED SET TO MISS OUT ON BROOKS
Manchester United have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho this summer, and they could be about to miss out on another winger.
The Red Devils are understood to have considered Bournemouth’s David Brooks among their options this summer, especially if they weren’t able to pull off a deal for Sancho. However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Brooks is now expecting to receive an offer from Leicester City in the coming weeks.
If Sancho does end up moving to Old Trafford, then missing out on Brooks won’t bother The Red Devils in the slightest. However, if Sancho opts to stay in Dortmund, then they might regret not pursuing their interest in the Welshman.
STONES TO FIGHT IT OUT AT THE ETIHAD
Manchester City may have signed Nathan Ake for £40 million earlier this summer, but John Stones insists that he intends to force his way back into Pep Guardiola’s plans instead of looking for a different club for the new season.
Stones would have a better chance of first-team action if Eric Garcia departs the Etihad. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are ready to rekindle their interest in the 19-year-old as Ronald Koeman continues his rebuilding job at the Nou Camp.
