Barcelona have produced a one-off Xavi tribute shirt to be worn by the players to mark the midfielder’s final game with the club.
The Spanish midfielder confirmed on Thursday that he would join Qatari side Al Sadd after spending his entire career at the Nou Camp. Xavi, with whom he won eight Spanish league titles and three Champions League trophies. On Saturday he pulls on a Barcelona shirt for the final time in a league game against Deportivo La Coruna.
But this will be no ordinary shirt, as the Barcelona players will wear special jerseys with the words ‘6racies Xavi’ emblazoned across the chest.
‘Gracies’ is the Catalan word for ‘thank you’, with the club replacing the ‘g’ with the number 6, a reference to the midfielder’s shirt number.

Xavi has explained why he decided to join Al Sadd, rather than try his luck elsewhere in Europe.
He said: “I told Barca I didn’t want to join a European club. I don’t want to face Barca, I don’t want to play at Camp Nou with another shirt.”
