Arsenal’s Dennis Bergkamp has escaped a ban despite being found guilty of improper conduct.
The Football Association fined Bergkamp œ5,000 for improper conduct after an incident involving Blackburn defender Nils-Eric Johansson.
The FA’s website, www.thefa.com, confirmed: “Arsenal’s Dennis Bergkamp has been found guilty of improper conduct at a disciplinary hearing in relation to an incident involving Blackburn’s Nils-Eric Johansson during the match at Highbury on 26 October.
“He was fined œ5,000 and warned as to his future conduct.”
Had the Dutch striker been found guilty of violent rather than improper conduct, Bergkamp could have faced a three-game ban.
