Outgoing Fifa president Sepp Blatter is to release a book chronicling his life at the top of football’s governing body in the coming days.
Swiss publishers Werd and Weber have said that the book, entitled ‘Sepp Blatter: Mission Football’, will be available this month, retailing at a not inconsiderable cost of £35.
By the sound of it, Blatter has curated a largely photo-based coffee table-style boo, detailing his 18 years in charge of Fifa which ended in ignominy last December when he, aling with Uefa president, Michel Platini, was handed an eight-year ban by the organisation’s ethics committee.
“Despite the success, Blatter repeatedly had to put up with harsh reviews and prejudices,” the publisher’s preview said. “In this richly illustrated book, Sepp Blatter tells how he learned to deal with the hostility.”
The text of the 300-page, hardcover book was written by his spokesman, Thomas Renggli.
Blatter is currently awaiting a decision on his appeal to Fifa over the ban handed out to him and Uefa president Michel Platini. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing and is expected to take his appeal to the Court for the Arbitration of Sport, should Fifa’s ethics committee confirm his suspension from football.
The 79-year-old hopes to be have the ban overturned thus enabling him to oversee the governing body’s presidential election meeting on Friday which wil choose his successor.
