Bologna have fired coach Delio Rossi after losing eight of their ten matches this season.
The final straw came after Tuesday’s 1-0 home defeat to 1-0 to 10-man Inter – a result which left the club thrid bottomw of Serie A with six points.
“Bologna FC announces that first-team Coach Delio Rossi has been relieved of his duties,” a statement on Bologna’s official website announced.
“He goes with heartfelt thanks for his professionalism and competence. The club wishes him and his staff the best of luck in their professional careers.”
Delio Rossi took over in May 2015 and was in charge of their promotion to serie a via the play-offs. Bologna drew with Pescara but under an unusual ruling were promoted as the highest-placed team go up in the event of a draw.
Rossi becomes the second Coach to lose his job in Serie A this season, with Fabrizio Castori dismissed by Carpi last month.
Current Under-17 boss Paolo Magnani took Wednesday’s training session, but former Parma Coach Roberto Donadoni has been tipped as his replacement.
