Ronaldinho and Kaka have been omitted from coach Dunga’s provisional Copa America squad.
The Europe-based duo asked Dunga to be excused from the South American championship, to be held from June 26 to July 15 in Venezuela.
Dunga’s 34-man squad, due to be reduced to 22 for the tournament, also does not contain strikers Ronaldo or Adriano, both members of last summer’s World Cup side.
Brazil meet Mexico in their opening match in Group B on June 27. The group also includes Chile and Ecuador.
