Brazil’s recent Copa America success has strengthened their position at the top of the FIFA world rankings.
Thhe World Champions have held the position, give or take a few months, for the past 11 years.
However, the big movers are Brazil’s South American rivals Argentina – up to 4th position from 11th, this in spite of being beaten – by Brazil – in the final of that tournament.
Greece remain in 14th position, but with the title of European Champions to their name, whilst fellow European Championship finalists Portugal are 12th.
