Spain coach Jose Antonio Camacho was content to take the credit for Spain’s second-half comeback against Paraguay following his decision to introduce Fernando Morientes and Ivan Helguera at half-time.
“Our change of system was perfect,” he declared.
Morientes scored twice as Spain came from behind to become the first team to make it into the last 16.
“It’s terribly difficult scoring three goals against Paraguay,” said Camacho.
“We needed a solution and we found it with the replacements”.
“After that goal we woke up and started playing in a different way. It was that moment that was the key to the game,” explained Morientes.
