Thomas Christiansen continued his impressive run of form with two first-half goals which gave Bochum a 2-0 win at Kaiserslautern and took them to third place in the Bundelisga.
Christiansen opened the scoring from close range on seven minutes before doubling Bochum’s lead with a header in the 21st minute.
The goals helped Christiansen become joint Bundesliga top scorer with Bayern’s Brazilian striker Elber with 10 goals.
The defeat left four-times champions Kaiserslautern second from bottom with just one victory from 12 games.
