China’s captain Ma Mingyu admits that his side lost concentration during the second-half of their 2-0 defeat to Costa Rica.
“We played to the best of our ability. We needed to stay focused for 90 minutes, but we lost it in the second half,” said Ma.
“It is disappointing that their two goals came so quickly together,’Ma added. ‘The coach told us beforehand that Costa Rica play in short spurts and at the end of the day that was the difference.”
“Generally we were positive throughout, but we lost our focus at crucial moments,” Ma admitted. “You have to react quickly after conceding a goal but we could not get one back.”
