England coach Sven Goran Eriksson has called Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn into his squad to face Portugal on Saturday.
Dunn comes in at the expense of Kieron Dyer who wothdrew from the squad due to a shin problem, while Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard twisted an ankle and remains doubtful for the friendly match.
Assistant Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Parkes said: “I phoned David straight away, naturally we are all delighted for him.
“He’s been working very hard and playing well, he deserves this.
“I don’t think England have a big squad this time, with a bit of luck, David will get to start.”
