Empoli have appointed Luigi Cagni to replace Mario Somma, the struggling Serie A club have confirmed.
Cagn has previous Serie A experience with Piacenza and Verona.
“The club is expecting a lot from my experience, but I have not come here to play defensively,” he said.
“Our defence can improve, but with my style of play the team is always looking to score. We’ll try and get something against Juventus – we’ve got nothing to lose.”
Somma guided Empoli to promotion last season, but after a promising start to the season, they have taken just two points in their last seven matches to slip back to 15th.
