Police are investigating 12 Italian clubs in a probe into suspected match-fixing.
Serie A club Siena revealed that police had visited their offices as part of the investigations being led by an anti-mafia unit in Naples. Siena said they had not been accused of any wrongdoing as a club, adding that players from 11 other clubs were also being investigated.
According to reports, five players, including three from Siena, were under investigation. Serie A clubs Chievo, Lecce and Reggina and Serie B Piacenza and Ascoli were also ammong those reported to be under scrutiny.
Italian football was hit by a gambling and match-fixing scandal in the early 1980s and there have been several smaller cases since.
