Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has repeated his desire to sign Djibril Cisse and claims the Liverpool striker is eagerto return to France.
The French striker has been a peripheral figure for the European champions this season and his predicament at Anfield has not gone unnoticed.
Diouf has confirmed that he has made contact with Liverpool and is confident a loan deal can be arranged when the transfer window opens in January.
“This is, in effect, a possibility,” Diouf told L’Est Republicain.
“Djibril is not satisfied with his game-time in Liverpool. And he has Marseille in his heart.
“He has pushed clearly to express his will to join us.
“As we look for a valued attacker, that obviously did not fall on deaf ears.
“For us, Djibril Cisse would be the ideal reinforcement.
“There is contact.
“A loan for six months, with an option to extend the adventure if everything went well, is conceivable.
“But in this complicated deal, it is necessary to advance step-by-step.”
