Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano says he is weighing up his options amid media reports that he has agreed personal terms with Italian champions Juventus.
A report in Barcelona-based newspaper Sport claimed that Mascherano has been in discussions with the Turin club about a possible move this summer.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo said that the former Liverpool man was contemplating a move and was also concerned about his legal position following a conviction for tax fraud in the Spanish courts earlier this year. The Argentinian was fined and issued with a one-year prison sentence, which was deferred for two years after an appeal by his legal team.
Asked about his future by TyCsports, while on international duty in Buenos Aires, Mascherano said the Juventus talk was just “a rumour” and that he had yet to make a decision about his long-term future.
“I analyse everything,” Mascherano said. “It is a rumour. At the moment I am at Barcelona, happy at the club, but I cannot say what will happen.
“There are people at the club who know all I went through during this year, with the problems I had on a personal level. The board, the sporting director know all this clearly.
“I am not talking about an exit, but I always weigh things up. To leave a club like Barcelona you must analyse many things, as there is the chance to win trophies and have a good life.
“But a day will come when all this ends. I don’t know if it will be now, or in one year, or two, or three.”
