Claudio Ranieri is reported to have told Frank Lampard that he wants him to come to Juventus.
The newly-appointed Juve coach claimed he spoke to the Chelsea midfielder last week about the possibility of a move to Turin.
“I want you with me,” Ranieri is quoted as telling Lampard in the Corriere dello Sport.
Lampard has been locked in talks with Chelsea for a number of months – but has yet to agree terms on a new deal. Interest from Ranieri could be used by Lampard as a bargaining chip in the ongoing negotiations.
Barcelona are known to be admirers of Lampard, but they admitted recently that they have no intention of bidding for the England international.
