John Terry found himself working as a translator when Samuel Eto’o, scorer of all three Chelsea goals in their 3-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday, conducted his post-match interview in French.
The Cameroon international clearly understood the questions being put to him by Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves, but would only answer in his first language.
Terry stepped in with a bit of creative translation.
In response to Eto’o being asked how happy he is at Chelsea, Terry translates: “Very much so, JT’s my best mate…”
When you have been found guilty of racially abusing an opponent, you cannot put a price on this kind of good publicity.
