Juan Sebastian Veron is adamant he will honour his contract with Manchester United, but he intends to end his career back in Argentina.
The 28-year-old Argentinean, still has three years remaining at Old Trafford.
Despite a difficult first season in the Premiership, Veron is beginning to show the quality that convinced Sir Alex Ferguson to splash out œ28.1 million on the midfielder.
“Six months ago, things were not going as I hoped they would,’ Veron said. ‘But nowadays I am very happy and I think I will see out my contract with United.
“The club, the players and the manager have all given me their support.” But he is already looking beyond 2006.
“I expect to end my career back at my first club, Estudiantes,” he said.
‘That is my wish for the not-too-distant future and I can see myself playing there in four or five years’ time.”
Veron is currently sidelined with a knee injury that will keep him out until April, when he hopes to return to face Liverpool in the league.
